No doubt we all know that a
woman is different from a man. The body builds the anatomic differences and
more all points to the fact that women and men are surely different in so many ways.
However, despite those visible differences, the functions of females as
compared to their male counterparts are often shaped by the norms and believe
of the society to which the woman finds herself.
Because this blog is
dedicated to educating women about how their body works, we will concentrate on
female anatomy.
Parts of female external
Genitals:
Vulva: This is the
anatomical name of the female external genitelia. It is made up of several structures which surround
the entrance to the vagina and each one has its own separate function.
The Labia Majora: This is
the large lips of the vagina. They are the two large folds which contains sweet
glands and hairfolicle embedded in fat. The size of the libia majora differs
considerably. At infancy and old age, they are small. And the fat is not
present; in the reproductive years, between puberty and menopause, they are well
filled with fatty tissue.Libia Minora(or the small) are delicate fold of skins
which contain little fatty tissue. They are very in size and it was once
believed that large labia minora were due to masturbation.
The Clitoeist is the exact
female female equivalent of the male penis. The fold of the labia minora which
passes over it is the equivalent to foreskin (prepuce). It is called the hood
and it covers and protect the sensitive ends (or glans) of the clitoris.
The Cleft: below the
clitoris and between the labia manora is called the vestibule (or entrance). Just
below the clitoris is the external opening of the part of the urinary track (the urethra) which connects the
bladder and the lining of the lower part other urethra may be exposed.
